This listing is for a GORGEOUS Vintage Set of 3 Vintage Fire-King Jadeite Jane Ray Cups and Jadeite Alice Saucers.  These Fire-King Jadeite pieces are a beautiful creamy green.  This lovely set was made by Fire King circa the 1950's.  All of these vintage Jadeite Cups and Saucers are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, and showing little to no wear and tear.  The set even comes with an original sticker!  The Jane Ray cups are marked "Oven Fire King Made in the U.S.A" on their bottoms.  One of the things that I love about Jadeite is its unique color and interesting history (make sure to check out the Did You Know below).  This Vintage Fire-King Jadeite Cup and Saucer set would make for such a thoughtful gift!  It would also be an awesome addition to your very own collection!

Did You Know?

Jadeite is a combination of sodium and aluminum, with chromium providing a vibrant green color.  Jadeite pieces often have variations to include patterns/swirls, mold markings, and color.  These variations in the manufacturing of Jadeite makes each piece unique!  The name "jade" comes from the first Spanish in the New World.  The Aztecs carried jade in their pocket, or in a pouch at their side, to cure kidney disorders, purify the blood, and protect the warrior's strength. So the Spanish called the stones "piedra de ijada" -- stone of the loin. The Spanish word "ijada" gradually changed, through error and mispronunciation over centuries, into the modern English word "jade."
